Sappy reunion stuff

[Spontaneously one day, Margaery had decided that she would very much like to visit home. Tommen had been very understanding of this wish and granted her a fortnight to visit, not counting the time it took to travel from King's Landing to Highgarden. Cersei had been somewhat annoyed by this but really who cared about Cersei's feelings? Her party had set out two days later. Loras was, of course, the Kingsguard knight assigned to escort the Queen on her journey.

Though Margaery denied it, Loras knew this trip was more for him than it was for her. It had been quite some time since either of them had seen Highgarden but they both knew Loras missed it more than his sister. When they arrived home, Loras dutifully stuck by his sister's side until she dismissed him with a laugh.

"I'm just going to visit with mother, Loras. Surely I need no protection for that. Why don't you go see Willas?"

The implication in that suggestion was not lost on Loras. After a quick peck to her cheek he left Margaery's side, heading to find his oldest brother. Willas was out in his private section of the gardens. After some catching up, Willas directed Loras to his solar. There he found Renly, just as Willas said he would. Loras stepped inside the room, still wearing light armor and his Kingsguard cloak, carefully shutting the door behind him]

Willas said I'd find you here. [Margaery had, of course, made both Willas and their mother swear not to say a word to Renly about this plan. She wanted it to be a surprise]

[Renly is enjoying it, the way he just lets Renly take care of him. He presses a kiss to the clothed inside of Loras's thigh after he takes his boots off, then his socks, and then he starts to unlace his breeches.] I know you would never. And I love you so, so much.

[rosehasthorns]

[Loras makes a sound of agreement to that as he reaches down to take Renly's hands in his own, stilling them]

Forget that for now and come up on the bed with me.

[loveandloyalty]

[Renly laughs quietly, letting Loras take his hands, and moving up onto the bed, instead draping against his side and pressing a kiss to the line of his jaw.] Just making sure you're comfortable, love.

[rosehasthorns]

I'm more comfortable just being here than I have been in months. [It's been about four since he was last in Highgarden, he thinks, unless he lost count somewhere along the way. He turns his head to give Renly a proper kiss, leaning into the other man as much as possible] And I'm here for three weeks. I don't believe I've told you that yet.

[loveandloyalty]

[Renly smiles fondly at that, against Loras's mouth, kissing him back with as much affection as possible, his arms resting comfortably around the other man's middle. He has to lean down a little less now, Loras is still getting taller.] I can never have enough time with you to be satisfied, but I suppose three weeks shall do.

[rosehasthorns]

[He's probably just about reached the peak of his growth]

We'll just have to make the most of those three weeks. I'm sure soon Mother will want to see me and tomorrow Garlan is meant to arrive from Brightwater but other than that, I'm all yours.

[loveandloyalty]

[Renly shifts only slightly to bury his nose in Loras's curls, breathing out a soft, contented sigh.] Of course, love. I can't keep you in here forever. [His smile is a little wry, a little self-deprecating.] I'm afraid I do not quite have the stamina anymore.

[rosehasthorns]

[Loras just scoffs in response to that]

Don't be ridiculous. I want to see you for reasons other than that. [Though he can't deny it sounds kind of appealing. Four months is a really long time]

[loveandloyalty]

[Renly only laughs, nuzzling against him affectionately.] I know. But I plan on much of that as well these three weeks, because the gods only know how long you might have to be in King's Landing after that.

[rosehasthorns]

I think I would be worried if you didn't. That would be very unlike you. [That would probably be the first sign that something was very wrong for Loras, honestly. The Baratheon libido is semi legendary] How do you feel, though? I haven't asked yet and I was in too much of a hurry to see you to go see the maester.

[When he left, Renly was still healing. He seems to be fairing much better now, though]

[Renly stops in his endeavor to leave hickeys under Loras's collar when he's asked how he's doing, and sighs, resting his forehead against his lover's shoulder. He half thinks about lying, saying he's as good as new, so that Loras won't worry, but Loras knows better, will hear differently from Highgarden's maester when he goes to talk to him.]

Better than before, of course. The maester says I will never quite be the same, though. Still, it is nothing to worry about, love.

[rosehasthorns]

You were tempted to lie to me for a moment, weren't you? [He can sense it] You best not be still. I'll find out and then I'll be forced to send Margaery after you.

[He moves into Renly's lap, though, pressing his lips gently to his lover's forehead] I think I'm entitled to worry a bit, don't you? You almost died, Renly. That isn't something I'm going to forget easily.

[loveandloyalty]

I don't want you to worry. [He wraps his arms around Loras when the other shifts into his lap, and buries his face against his neck and his soft curls. He's a little ashamed of wanting to lie to Loras, of all people, but he hates the reminders that he's not the same, that he- that he almost died.

When Loras voices that thought, Renly winces against him, and his grip around him tightens a little.] I wish I could forget.

[rosehasthorns]

[Loras makes a face that says there is no chance of that happening, wrapping his arms around Renly's neck. He feels bad because he knows it must be even harder for Renly than it is for him but the fact remains that it is something that will probably stick with both of them for a while]

You'll just have to accept that I'm going to worry. But much less so than I would if you were not here with my family. [He closes the distance between them, giving Renly a gentle kiss] But you did not die and that is all I care about. I do not want to imagine what I'd do without you.

[loveandloyalty]

You shouldn't. I'm safe here with your family and recovering as well as can be expected, the maester says. [Even if he tires easily, has to catch his breath on long walks, and wakes up shivering and sweating from nightmares, he's still alive and going to stay that way, hidden away here at Highgarden. And despite everything, he's happy - the Tyrells treat him like family, they let him love their son. Willas has become a good friend in these months, since he and Renly move at about the same pace these days. What more could he want?]

I don't want to imagine what I would do without you either. I think I have more right to worry, with you away in King's Landing.

[rosehasthorns]

You shouldn't. No one could possibly harm me. [Which isn't at all the truth but Loras is just stubborn enough to believe it. He kisses Renly again, more deeply this time, leaning more of his weight into his lover]

But I think we can come up with something much more pleasant to do than talk about this, don't you?

[loveandloyalty]

You just lectured me about lying, love. [Quiet reminder that he knows exactly how dangerous Lannisters can be, and how the capitol is not safe. But he kisses Loras back, leaning into him like a lifeline, and lets a small smile tug at his lips.]

I think we can.

[rosehasthorns]

It wasn't a lecture and I wasn't lying. I'm perfectly capable of keeping both myself and Margaery safe. [And in retaliation for doubting his abilities, Loras nips at Renly's bottom lip]

I've missed you, have I told you that?

[loveandloyalty]

I do not doubt your abilities, I'm simply saying you should not underestimate that snake Cersei, nor should you underestimate her council. Not all battles are fought with sword and shield. [Some are fought with pen and paper, and it always bothers Renly that he isn't there in the capitol to fight those battles for Loras the way Loras has always fought for him on the field.

He can't help but make a soft sound as he kisses Loras again, one hand snaking underneath the hem of his shirt to feel warm skin.] I have missed you as well.

[rosehasthorns]

[Loras rolls his eyes, nipping at Renly's bottom lip again. Excuse you he is trying to kiss you. Stop talking about Cersei]

If you truly missed me you would stop lecturing me and make love to me.

[loveandloyalty]

[Excuse you, Loras, he has a right to worry. He's stuck here in Highgarden constantly wondering if you're doing okay. He breathes out a laugh and kisses him again though, hand sliding down to tug at the laces of his breeches.]

If you'll recall, love, I did try to pleasure you, but you are the one who said to 'forget that for now'.

[rosehasthorns]

Oh is that what you were doing? I thought you were trying to play with my clothing.

[loveandloyalty]

You're always so impatient. I would have gotten to the fun bit.

[rosehasthorns]

Eventually. It's been four months, love. I think that's quite enough waiting don't you?

[loveandloyalty]

Again, you're the one who stopped me. [Renly breathes out a laugh and slides his hands down again to Loras's breeches to unlace them and tug them open.] I am perfectly happy continuing on this course of action.
